Performance:
Camberwell Arts Festival, London, 2006.
Duration:
3 hours
Rationale:
To describe the tension between a need for staying
at home and the desire to fly away.
Description:
The performance begins at an origin point –
a post decorated with mirrors, feathers, and jewels.
The heart begins its beating here. A dramatic
tension is then described by the desire to move,
to fly, and to explore the outside world. The
performer walks away out into the spaces around
the home, she flies, her heart beats, and she
always returns back again. Red strings mark her
pathways; she weaves her story of leaving and
returning.
