Date:
November, 2008.
Location:
London.
Rationale:
To make a dance between the temporal body and
the eternal spirit.
To express the process of death and grieving.
To make a dance of release.
To make a dance of reverence.
Letting go of mother.
Description:
The performer wears a costume made of
bird feathers, black fabric and bells. The movements
she makes stem from Japanese Butoh themes: bones,
emotional weather patterns, and the dance of life
and death in relation to the earth and sky. This
dance is a prayer for transformation - from the
heaviness of loss towards a faith in the eternal
cycles of death/rebirth, evolution and transformation.
